My parents raised me in a home where we made church a regular part of our lives and I embraced Jesus at the age of 12. Yet, it took the journey into adulthood for my faith to truly unfold and to sharpen my sense of purpose within my faith.I always knew I had been called to serve God, but I grappled with the meaning of serving God. Through seeking God and prayer, the answer crystallized for me: I serve God by urging fellow believers to reflect the light of Jesus into their corners of the world. We are not meant to be hidden! We are to live boldly with our lives marked by the vibrant fruits of transformation.A significant turning point for me happened when I took time for a mission trip with my home-based church to teach Choctaw children about the Fruit of the Spirit. I realized that God had given us this model of what the Christian life should look like.While I value traditional church, I've found a powerful connection in the close-knit fabric of home-based churches. They offer fertile ground for nurturing a relational and tangible faith, one that blooms in the everyday alongside others.I possess an unwavering dedication to scripture and strive to be a serious student of the Bible, delving into the original languages and historical contexts to better understand God's grand mosaic.Inspired by the Noble Bereans in Acts 17:11, I've embarked on a mission to encourage others to seek the same earnest and noble examination of the Scriptures. I firmly believe we must all be equipped both to question and to understand the foundations of our faith.In the end, I hope to weave these threads - my understanding of faith, my insights from Scripture, and the simplicity of Christ's teachings - into stories that not only entertain but also inspire growth and reflection.I am a tried-and-true "Gen Xer." I grew up staying out late, riding bikes and catching lightning bugs. I saw the dawn of MTV and still remain convinced that the best music is the Eighties music. I grew up thinking I might be a chef one day, but the twists and turns of life often take us to places we never imagined. After a stint in the restaurant business, I tried my hand at sales, factory work, and a long list of other jobs before finding a passion for cybersecurity. Now I serve as the Chief Risk & Information Security Officer for a major fintech provider.I'm happily married to my childhood sweetheart who stole my heart at just 15-years-old. It didn't take us long to realize we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. God has blessed us with three terrific sons, a lovely daughter-in-law, and a grandson who is a highlight of our lives with another grandchild on the way.
