A two-time cancer survivor, Sara Atkinson has spent many years working as an executive assistant, keeping chaos in check with her sharp instincts, wit and outgoing personality. She is certified in Reiki and breathwork coaching and a proud dog mum to Sophia the goldendoodle, and Heidi the German boxer. She thinks it is funny when people get riled up about others who call themselves dog parents. Sara lives in Southern Alberta. From her roots in a small rural community where she spent her childhood, to Edmonton, Calgary, Airdrie and the majestic Rocky Mountains in Jasper, she has lived and worked in this beautiful province most of her life, and is proud to call it home. Her first book, Lucky Scar, is a raw and fiercely honest memoir about how faith, authenticity, love, humour and even a little dog hair can prove that our scars can come with silver linings.
