He strongly advocates for children seeing themselves represented in the books they read, regardless of their cultural, ethnic, or socioeconomic background. For him, bilingual and bicultural children's books are crucial; they help children understand their own culture and ancestral origins, whether living in their native country or abroad.Osuba has three adult children: Raffi, Gabbi, and Leilani.
