Many methods have been investigated for isolation and purification of lysozyme form chicken egg white. Most of them are based on chromatographic techniques i.e. a metal affinity chromatography or ion exchange chromatography. The principle limitation of these methods is that chromatography is an expensive technique and the yields obtained do no justify commercialization.
