George Moir (1800 1870) was a Scottish advocate, author, amateur artist, and early photographer. Born in Aberdeen, Moir was educated at the University of Edinburgh, where he later became a Professor of Rhetoric and Belles-Lettres. Moir s writings include works on magic and witchcraft, as well as various educational texts for young pupils.
