WINNER! 2025 Readers' Favorite International Book Awards - Honorable Mention - Children's audiobooks. Magic Moon is a cool, quirky, gigantic, somewhat terrifying, alien "moon-like" being who likes puns and jokes when he's not accidentally causing small avalanches! He may grant two special requests with his magical powers if you are brave enough to face him, as one young girl is. A young girl journeys up the mountain to ask Magic Moon how to help her brother, who has been grieving for many days after his best friend moved away. "Shirley Moulton has an appealing voice that shines through in her characters. Children will find the sequel to Magic Moon: A Young Boy's Journey delightful, especially as you get more insight into his sister's character. The young girl in this story is fierce and sassy, making both Mr. Moon and young readers laugh. Mr. Moon is also a jolly character, and his wisdom can also be applied in real life. Magic Moon: Sister's Turn is highly recommended, as it covers navigating deep feelings, such as grief, care, and love. The audiobook is narrated well by Shilo Dennis, Gwen Dennis, Ewan Dennis, Linda Abdo and Preston Abdo, who enhance the characters' personalities immensely and give them each a unique voice. The sound quality is also very clear, allowing you to imagine the events that are transpiring in real time. The main character, the young girl, particularly stands out, as you can gauge her emotions from listening to the narrator." -- Readers' Favorite, 2025. AUTHOR Shirley Moulton has been close, personal friends with Magic Moon for her entire life. He asked her to write some of his stories, so, naturally, she did. He observed the author as she worked professionally with children (for 35 years), which is a much shorter time than the millions of years he's been around. His author (and best friend) has a few university degrees (which seem like "next to nothing" compared to his vast knowledge). He became rather excited when YouTube videos with excerpts of his stories were published, and when Magic Moon: A Young Boy's Journey (Vol. 1) and Magic Moon: Sister's Turn (Vol. 2) audiobooks were recently published, especially as some of his worlds don't have any technology at all! Hopefully, he won't let all this attention go to his very large head...especially after he's also received some very good editorial and customer reviews and book awards!Shirley Moulton's first book, "Magic Moon: A Young Boy's Journey" is actually a story she told to her grandchildren one night. She was using a large flashlight, shining it on the ceiling. Two rings glowed around the central light, so she made this "Magic Moon." She developed the story with "Magic Moon" having the power to grant two requests. She has now written and published five Magic Moon books: Magic Moon: A Young Boy's Journey (Vol. 1), Magic Moon: Sister's Turn (Vol. 2), Magic Moon: Two Worlds (Vol. 3), Magic Moon: A New Beginning (Vol. 4) and Magic Moon: Bears Ears (Vol. 5).She has also recently published "You Should Always, At Least, Ask for a Unicorn," and "You Should Always, At Least, Ask for a T-Rex." 2025.
