After barely escaping the battles of Mabon, Maia aimlessly floats through space before crashing to earth during a time when life on the planet was still young. Maia and her companion watch as life on earth grows, especially that of humanity. Missing Mabon and all the special friendships she knew, Maia is Guardian to seven dragon eggs: each representing the last remaining dragon families. Executing a plan to deliver an egg to each of the seven continents, Maia's companion weaves a spell that will allow each dragon hatchling to live amongst the humans in human form. They thought all the variables had been considered. But as many humans know, life has its own ideas. And when life twists and turns unfold, sometimes all we have is faith in ourselves to meet the challenges as they inevitably come. Throughout the unfolding story is the weaving of love, loss and betrayal, fulfilling duty while mired in anger and sadness, forging new friendships, and ultimately learning how to live again.

Sandra Rempel currently lives in Saskatchewan, Canada, with her three fuzzy butt companions (two cats and one dog, all rescues) in a 1906 house that leans to the north - or so the inspector said when she bought it.The story of Maia & The Dragon Mist has been a labor of love over 15 years in the making, with the story line evolving many times over those years. And evolving even further once the author started putting pen to paper (or keyboard to computer).Finishing this story brought a surprising sense of sadness as if the author were losing a long time friend but also joy and satisfaction with how the final story came together. It was truly a labor of love as she cried, laughed, and raged at many of life's injustices as she embodied each main character's experiences in the moment.No matter what happens when this labor of love goes out into the world, know that she is incredibly happy and grateful for the experience of creating and writing this story, and for you dear reader, for taking a chance on this unknown author.
