One sweet mistake leads to a wild adventure-and a lesson in living naturally! When Mama Sugar Bear wakes from her long winter nap, her nose leads her straight into trouble... and straight to a bag of sugar from a local chocolate shop! But what begins as a sticky situation turns into a heartwarming tale of friendship, discovery, and the joy of wild places. Inspired by a true story, this delightful picture book follows Mama Sugar Bear and her two curious cubs as they meet a kind park ranger who shows them the wonders of Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. With gentle guidance, the bears learn to trade sweet treats for nature's own bounty-berries, honey, and fresh-caught fish. Perfect for young nature lovers, Mama Sugar Bear is a beautifully told reminder that the world outside is full of sunshine, surprises, and everything we need to grow.
Autorenporträt
Kate Bosch resides in the Leelanau Peninsula of Michigan, where she enjoys hiking the trails of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore with her husband and their schnoodle, Wrigley. A retired emergency room physician, she is pursuing her dream of writing children's books, particularly those set in the natural world. Katie's fascination with bears began during a childhood camping trip in northern California, where two bears destroyed their campsite in search of food. Her fear of bears has since faded, but she keeps a safe distance when encountering them in the wild. At home, she is surrounded by a collection of bear-themed items, including artwork, books, and now Mama Sugar Bear.
