In children, mandibular fractures are one of the main reasons for consultation in maxillofacial surgery. The type of treatment of these fractures, a subject of controversy, conditions functional and morphological results. The aim of this study was to analyze the epidemiological and clinical factors involved, as well as the different therapeutic methods and their indications, and to compare our results with those of the literature. Material and methods: We analyzed our experience through a retrospective study of 75 patients with mandibular fractures treated in the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the Habib Bourguiba University Hospital, Sfax, between 2001 and 2010.Results: Patients ranged in age from 2 to 15 years, with an average age of 10.2 years. The sex ratio was 4. Domestic accidents dominated. Fractures were symphyseal in 43% of cases, angular in 19% and condylar in 17%. Orthopedic treatment was used in 52% of cases for mandibular body fractures. Surgical treatment was indicated in 35.5%.
