This book presents the results of an investigation into mathematical literacy in riverside schools in the Amazon. Its aim was to investigate theoretical and methodological approaches to the teaching and learning of maths, in the context of mathematical literacy, which could be established in multi-grade classes in riverside schools in the Amazon. From this perspective, the vision of mathematical literacy was constructed taking into account the child's initial reading and writing skills in school mathematical language, but also as a path to learning in the world of different mathematical relationships.
