Maria Regina, actuellement à la retraite, a enseigné pendant 29 ans dans le système scolaire public municipal de Novo Hamburgo, RS, Brésil. Elle est titulaire d'un diplôme en mathématiques de l'université UNISINOS, d'un diplôme de troisième cycle en mathématiques et nouvelles technologies de la FACCAT et d'un diplôme de troisième cycle en ludicité du centre universitaire Barão de Mauá.
