Growing up in Maryland, Ryan was a rambunctious boy who thrived on outdoor adventures-exploring the woods, swimming in rivers, fishing, and riding dirt bikes. Now living in Hampton Roads, Virginia, not much has changed-except his playground has grown from rivers to the ocean, and he now shares his adventures with his two sons, who also crave time outdoors. The Max E. James series draws inspiration from Ryan's own childhood experiences and his daily life with his family.
