Autorenporträt
Nicole Marks has always had an undeniable love for animals from her earliest years. When most kids were making friendships, Nicole was rescuing something that needed saving or making friends with some member of the animal kingdom, much to her family's dissatisfaction. From the frostbitten field mouse (that may have escaped the shoe box INSIDE the house), to the rehabbed chicken that took up residence in the bathtub, or the lame duck with the broken leg that needed a cast, surely there was a connection between Nicole and the animals. As a professional, Nicole relocated to New England, where she had the greatest gift of teaching therapeutic riding for special needs children and adults. When they are not at their winter home in Hobe Sound, Florida, or visiting their horses in the Virginia countryside, Nicole and her husband enjoy summers traveling by boat up the eastern seaboard, stopping at all the tiny towns from Maryland to Nantucket to Maine. It is Nicole's great pleasure to be able to give a portion of the proceeds from this book to Friends of the Animals Shelter (FOTAS), the shelter that blessed her family with Maxwell Marks.
