Author Valerie Pepe A friend once said to me, "You are writing another book? How much can you write about yourself?" I smiled because this memoir is not just about me. It's about the relationship between a father, a daughter, and their shared love of baseball and the New York Mets. Author Valerie Pepe's new book is a poignant memoir about two fanatical New York Mets fans, a physically disabled daughter and her postal worker father, who bond together in their shared love of baseball. It is also a nostalgic lookback at Staten Island's Italian-American community of the 1960s and 1970s.
