Dean Frederic William Farrar was a British clergyman, educator, and author. Born on 7 August 1831 in Mumbai, he became a senior-ranking figure in the Church of England. Farrar was deeply involved in both education and literature, known for his moral and theological works. He gained recognition as a schoolteacher and his writings often explored themes of religion and personal development. Farrar was also a member of the Cambridge Apostles, a secret society, and played a notable role in the funeral of Charles Darwin in 1882, where he served as a pallbearer. In 1860, he married Lucy Mary Cardew, with whom he had three children: Maud, Ivor Granville, and Lillian. His parents were Caroline Turner and Charles Pinhorn Farrar. Farrar s academic career and literary contributions, including novels and theological texts, had a lasting impact on the educational and religious spheres. His works provided insight into the moral and philosophical issues of his time. Farrar passed away on 22 March 1903 in Canterbury, United Kingdom, at the age of 71.
