Originaire de Thuringe, Julia Büchner (née en 1982) a travaillé plusieurs années comme technicienne en environnement avant d'étudier les sciences agricoles à l'université Humboldt de Berlin. Elle a terminé ses études en 2017 avec un mémoire intitulé ' Aperçu des méthodes utilisées dans la culture de la pomme de terre depuis 1990 ' (note : 1).
