I have this thing for words, especially those containing secret fire, like empathy and mystical. Empathy seems a mild word, warm perhaps but hardly fiery. Mystical seems vague and murky enough to connote anything but ardor. Wise elders of our species in the pages ahead will help us see deeper, see empathy as a blazing mountain to climb, see mystical as burnishing gold buried beneath our feet.

Autorenporträt
Charlie Finn lives with his wife Penny north of Roanoke in Fincastle, Virginia. Both are retired and enjoying their life in the country, which includes tending to woodpile and many gardens. Their love of traveling takes them to visits with their children April and Adam in Tennessee and Texas, as well as to enticing points beyond. While Finn retired in 2015 from a 40-year career in counseling, which followed seven years as a high school English and Humanities teacher, he has not retired from his lifelong love of writing. Information about many of Charlie's works can be found on his website, www.poetrybycharlescfinn.com. Inscribed copies can be ordered through him at charles.c.finn@gmail.com.
