Misfortunes of Democracy in Nigeria seeks to expose the turmoil in the processes of elections in Nigeria. The book reveals the different sides in the ongoing struggle for legitimate electoral outcomes in the country. To actually help us understand the consistency of deliberate negative political actions by political buccanears in the country, the book provides insight into the undemocratic activity of ballot mmerchants whose interests have been to manipulate the system to their advantage. By identifying the triggers of discord in election management in the country, Misfortunes of Democracy explains how ethnicity, regional affinity, and religion affiliation are used to mobilize voters during elections in the country. Furthermore, the book offers valid opinion about the factors that can successfully reduce over-reliance on ethnicity, religion and regional sentiments when making decisions on preferences and choices.
