Autorenporträt
Kemba Hubbard was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. She has spent the last 20-plus years serving children and families in several different capacities as a teacher, community worker, student services advisor, and school psychologist. She also has worked with countless children and families impacted by incarceration. Incarcerated parents and young black males are near and dear to her heart. This is primarily due to the struggles she has witnessed firsthand with her godchildren who landed in the perils of the criminal justice system. She continues to be deeply moved by students she encounters who are being swept up in the school-to-prison pipeline. The goal of her participation in this project is to give hope to children experiencing what they may believe is a hopeless situation. She currently lives in Marion, Ohio with her family.
