Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation (MIH) is an enamel abnormality that affects the 1 molars and incisors of the permanent dentition. This developmental disorder is caused by a lack of enamel mineralisation during maturation phase as a result of interrupted function of ameloblast . MIH commonly manifests as discolouration of the afflicted permanent molars and incisors. The enamel of affected teeth appears yellow, brown, cream, or white. These teeth are considered unaesthetic, which may cause concern for children and their parents.
