The Book Fest Award 2025 Third Place Award for Children's Nonfiction Animals How many moments do you think it takes to make a difference in people's lives? Only a Few! Surprised? Meet Britan, the lovable Cavalier King Charles spaniel with a very special job! In this heartwarming children's book, Britan shares his adventures as a therapy dog, visiting classrooms, libraries, hospitals, airports, and assisted living homes-spreading comfort, calmness, and lots of smiles wherever he goes and making a friend or two along the way. With his gentle spirit and wagging tail, Britan shows young readers how even the smallest acts of kindness can brighten someone's day as he visits people who need extra love and attention. Get ready to join Britan and his mom as they bring joy to the world, one paw at a time! If you have any special moments with your dog, let us hear about them on Britan's Facebook page, Moments with Britan.
Working with my therapy dog, Britan, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, has been a high point in my life and is immensely rewarding. As a team, Britan and I have spent many hours in assisted living facilities, the Charlotte Douglas airport, libraries, classrooms, hospitals, adolescent treatment centers, and universities, bringing people smiles and joy. The people love his visits and are grateful for the service Britan and other therapy dogs deliver. Britan's fondness for children at the library has been special. "Moments with Britan" was written to show children the benefits therapy dogs provide. Britan-in his own voice-talks about his experiences and the many places he has brought joy to others.
