Jay Ingram grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He attended college at Old Dominion's former parent school, William & Mary, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in history. His interest in the subject matter of this book stems from the fact that his father, John A. Ingram Jr., was a student at Old Dominion College, and a member of the baseball team from 1961-1964. Jay is currently employed by an electric utility in Roanoke, Virginia, as a director of transmission field services.
