Laura Bruneau, PhD, is a professor at Adams State University in the Department of Counselor Education. Bruneau has coauthored four publications in the area of animal-assisted interventions. In her most important role, Bruneau is Moose’s human. Beverly Timmons, EdD, is a professor emeritus at Kent State University in the Department of Teaching, Curriculum, and Leadership Studies. Timmons develops balanced, effective literacy programs for children and teachers. Mic Ru is a self-taught fine artist from childhood who later would hone his skills by obtaining a BFA in graphic design and illustration at New Mexico State University. He illustrated The Dog Tags Comics, Christmas Town, Ryan the Dinosaur, The Bee Who Sneezed, The Rat Who Loved Math, The Lizard in a Blizzard, and The Duck Without a Quack.
