This work reflects on the motivational aspects that surround the organizational sphere of a Federal Public Institution, analyzing the introspective reality of the employees who work in the administrative function, in order to understand which elements are capable of satisfying the individual and collective needs of these workers. To this end, a case study was carried out based on the application of questionnaires and subsequent processing of the information, with subsequent analysis supported by books and scientific journals. As a result of this research, relevant information was obtained about the variables underlying the entry and retention of administrative staff in a higher education organization in Brazil.
