Mr. Brick & the Boys concerns a small west Texas rancher who as a widower and Vietnam vet finds himself unexpectedly teaching two young boys the finer points of working horses. In the course of showing them how to ride, rope, train horses and herd cattle, he discovers unexpected purpose and identity. As the boys and their parents turn to him for help he gets unexpected lessons in how he might fit into their lives, as well as how to negotiate ranch conditions made worse by climate change.
