M.C. Tillson had Ms. McNair's story running around in her head for a long time. With lots of help from a ton of people she finally finished the poem and then found Elizabeth Lee to bring the story to life with her amazing illustrations. M.C. Tillson loves writing children's books (she also has series of lighthouse mystery books) and she especially enjoys talking with kids about their favorite books. When she's not writing or doing author visits, she might be at a baseball game cheering for the San Francisco Giants. She also likes traveling to fun places with fun people, working in her garden, playing cards, and reading. Her favorite color is green, her favorite food is anything Italian, and her biggest fan is a chocolate and white Brittany spaniel named Mercy.
