Surbhi Bansal was born and raised in India. She completed her medical studies at University of Buffalo in New York and at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is a practicing physician and lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and two children. Her desire to write this story took root when she inherited her own stamp collection from her dad and noticed her son's curiosity about them. All stamps described in the story are part of that collection.
