She's sweet. She's stubborn. She's always up to something. Step into the world of Ireentje (Ee ain chuh), the spirited and free-thinking eldest daughter of Dutch immigrants in 1960s Canada. This heartwarming compendium includes My Amazing Everyday Adventures, My Exciting Everyday Escapades, My Fantastic Everyday Frolics, and My Marvelous Everyday Moments-each book brimming with humor, mischief, and life lessons. Children will giggle at Ireentje's thoughts and antics while discovering a different time and culture. Through her everyday capers, they'll experience the warmth of family love as she navigates her responsibilities and learns about the importance of honesty, kindness, and compassion. And with stories featuring wolves, marbles, kittens, batons, chipmunks, bears, and more, their imaginations will soar! This library edition book is similar to the Ramona Quimby books, Ivy & Bean, and the Little House series
Dr. Crocker is an immigrant born to an immigrant and on for generations. That wanderlust rubbed off. Her parents moved from the Netherlands to Canada while her mother was expecting her. She has lived in Canada, Iowa, England, California, Texas, and Virginia. Her career has been equally varied. She trained as a scientist in microbiology and immunology and worked in medical research before teaching cell biology, microbiology, and other subjects. She also founded a nonprofit, helped start a technology company, tutored, and worked in communications. Now, she's doing what she loves: enjoying her eight grandchildren, gardening, and writing books-adult books, big kid books, little kid books, and even a book on doing microbiology in your kitchen. Truth that reads like fiction.
