Autorenporträt
Robert W. Myers, son of Rollie and Esther Tyler Myers, was born in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, in 1923 and moved with his parents to Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1934. He served in ROTC at Chattanooga High School, was a midshipman at Carson Newman College, and did a tour in Korea with the US Marine Corps. He earned an MD degree at Tulane Medical School and entered private practice with Dr. Fred Marsh in Chattanooga in 1953. He later formed a partnership with Dr. Harry (Andy) Anderson and treated patients at Erlanger, Memorial and Parkridge Hospitals. The practice later became Chattanooga Internal Medicine Group as it included other physicians. Dr. Myers married Mattie Ruth Theriot in 1940 in New Orleans, Louisiana. They were members of Chattanooga's Trinity Methodist Church along with their daughters, Laura Jean, Linda Kay, and Bonnie Jane. The family supported the church as it evolved to become Trinity Woodmore and then merged with Christ United Methodist Church. After the death of Mattie Ruth, Robert Myers married Elizabeth (Libby) Dalton in 1985, and their two families enjoyed many years together in Chattanooga.
