Autorenporträt
Prof. (Dr.) Sabu Thomas, D.Sc., Ph.D., FRSC, FEurASc, is a Distinguished Scientist and Academic Leader, currently serving as Chairman of Trivandrum Engineering Science & Technology Research Park (TrEST Research Park). He is Former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, where he played a pivotal role in elevating the university’s global reputation. He is Director of the School of Energy Materials, School of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and the International & Inter-University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at MGU. Prof. Thomas has authored over 1,400 research articles, edited 200 books, and has an H-index of 153 with more than 115,144 citations. He has supervised 132 Ph.D. theses and has received numerous national and international awards. As Chief Editor of Nano-Structures & Nano-Objects (Elsevier), he actively contributes to advancing scientific knowledge. His pioneering contributions have positioned him among India's most productive scientists. Prof. Miran Mozeti¿, Ph.D., performs basic research in the surface engineering of solid materials by non-equilibrium gaseous plasma treatments. He obtained a diploma engineer degree in physics, an M.Sc. in technical sciences, and a Ph.D. in electronic vacuum technologies. He is Leader of the research team, currently consisting of about 30 scientists, engineers, and technicians. The team examines basic phenomena in plasma-surface interaction and develops technologies for industrial applications. He was granted several prizes and awards for innovative solutions, which are often disclosed in patents granted worldwide. His team is among the leading groups in tailoring surface properties of polymers and polymer composites on both experimental and industrial scales. He has co-authored about 400 scientific papers, which have been cited about 10,000 times. Prof. Oluwafemi is a full-fledged academic who is involved in teaching, learning, research, community engagement, staff, and student mentorship, among many other activities. His research interests include the synthesis of different types of semiconductor nanomaterials and nanostructures, such as quantum dots, metal nanomaterials, core-shell structures, doped nanostructures, and polymer nanocomposites, for various applications, including biological, optical, environmental, nanotoxicology, and water treatment. He is also involved in the indigenous knowledge system for value-added chain using different South African medicinal plants. Prof. Oluwafemi is an NRF B-Rated Researcher with over 250 publications in internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and books. He has attracted over 40-million-rand research grants in the last 11 years. Furthermore, he has received many international and local accolades. Dr. Hanna J. Maria is a Senior Researcher at the School of Energy Materials. She finished her Ph.D. in the year 2015 from Mahatma Gandhi University. After her Ph.D., she did a post-doctoral work at the Centre for Advanced Materials, Qatar University, Doha-Qatar, with Prof. Mariam Ali S A Al-Maadeed, then with Prof Koichi Goda, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Yamaguchi University, Japan. She got the Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship with Prof. Sabu Thomas, M. G. University. Earlier, she had obtained her M.Sc. in analytical chemistry and later completed her M.Phil. in environmental chemistry. She also worked as a CNRS, Post-Doctoral Fellow with Prof. Ange Nzihou, Director, Centre RAPSODEE, IMT Mines Albi, France, and at the Siberian Federal University. In June 2022, she was Visiting Professor at the University of Loarraine St Avold, France. She has 20 publications, 10 book chapters, and 7 co-edited books to her credit.
