Linda Burks, PhD, is a licensed psychologist whose area of expertise and specialized training is working with post-traumatic stress disorder. She brings over four decades of experience as a psychotherapist to her first book, "Navigating Transitions."In her clinical practice, she observed that people typically enter therapy after some type of life-changing event or turbulent transition unravels their sense of stability, forcing them to understand their life differently. Recognizing this prompted Linda to offer hope and encouragement to all who seek to know their true nature and to live wholeheartedly with passion and purpose.Through her company, Calibrating Your Compass, Linda offered workshops designed to ignite inner wisdom; teach healing practices to nourish and awaken the body, mind and spirit; connect with your authentic self; and create a foundation for being who you truly are and living the life you envision more purposefully.Yet even in her retirement, Linda still prioritizes enriching and expanding people's understanding of how life's struggles can awaken consciousness and illuminate a path for those who seek meaning and purpose in life. She does this through her speaking, teaching and writing in the hope that those she meets will discover their inner strength, life-affirming truths, and courage and compassion to live life to its fullest.Linda lives in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she writes, enjoys painting and yoga classes, and explores new adventures on her bucket list.
