Monique Leslie Akassi earned a PhD in English Composition and Rhetoric from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, May 2011. She is also an English Lecturer at Morgan State University. Her interests include composition pedagogy, rhetorical criticism, literary criticism theory, and issues in American education.
