"Master the principles and skills of respiratory care for neonates, infants, and children! Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care, 6th Edition provides a solid foundation in the assessment and treatment of respiratory disorders in children. Clear, full-color coverage simplifies the concepts of respiratory care while emphasizing clinical application. Reflecting the changing face of this profession, this edition unpacks care strategies with coverage of the newest treatment algorithms, interventions, mechanical ventilation technologies, and more. From an expert team of contributors led by Brian K. Walsh, an experienced respiratory therapist and researcher, this text is an excellent study tool for the NBRC's Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty examination."--Provided by publisher.
Dr. Walsh began his health career in emergency medical services and respiratory therapy and quickly developed an interest and passion for research and education. Dr. Walsh's research career began by focusing on areas within respiratory care that lacked evidence to guide practice. This pursuit and passion led to several discoveries within each of those areas and the development of several nationally recognized clinical practice guidelines. Before coming to Liberty University to be the founding Director of the Respiratory Therapy Program, Dr. Walsh was an Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital. Dr. Walsh currently serves as the Director of Respiratory Therapy Program at the Liberty University School of Health Sciences and as a professor of Health Sciences.
