The importance of public procurement in achieving governments' socio-economic objectives in both developed and developing countries are widely acknowledged among policy makers, professionals and the academia, to make its process more efficient and effective. The objectives of this research is exploring the use of networking for capacity building of public procurement professionals in Ghana to identify conditions for effective network formation, opportunities in networking for capacity building of procurement professionals in Ghana and to identify potential challenges for using networking for knowledge capacity building of procurement professionals. Networking can offer local procurement professionals the opportunity to acquire knowledge from external professionals, know global trends about procurement practice and obtain information about procurement from other institutions. Potential challenges faced however, are the lack of mechanisms to check the accuracy of information that is shared, poor human relations and reluctance in sharing knowledge within the network. This research work is expected to be of interest to major stakeholders of public procurement entities.
