Hugo is best known for his novels Les Mis rables and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, which have become staples in world literature. His writing not only explored themes of love, justice, and social issues but also conveyed strong political messages, often advocating for the rights of the oppressed. Beyond literature, Hugo was also involved in politics and was exiled for his opposition to Napoleon III. His works continue to influence writers, poets, and thinkers around the world. He passed away on May 22, 1885, at the age of 83 in Paris, leaving behind a legacy as one of France s most beloved literary figures. His works remain enduring symbols of the struggle for justice and human dignity.
