Paul Burnore grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and earned degrees in English Literature from Indiana University. He became a Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand where he taught at Songkhla University. He later taught poetry and literature at Indiana University, Jundi Shapur University in Iran, and Anatolia College in Greece. He joined IBM in 1978 and worked in several management jobs until 1992 when he rejoined the Peace Corps as the first Country Director of Kazakhstan. In 1995 he became USAID Director of Enterprise Restructuring in Russia, and subsequently returned to IBM in Jakarta, Indonesia as Asia Pacific Director of Software Developers. In 2010-2011 he served as a volunteer in Haiti with All Hands Volunteers, a disaster response non-profit, and soon after became Managing Director.¿His hobbies include ocean kayaking (Antarctica, Italian Riviera, Norway, etc); mountain climbing (Kilimanjaro, Tien Shans, Andes, etc); scuba diving (Red Sea, Java Sea, etc); long-distance running (6 marathons, etc) and flying single-engine airplanes, biplanes, and ultralights.¿He retired in St. Petersburg, Florida where he created a group called Poetry Nuts for people writing poetry. He has published six books of poetry. Mr. Burnore currently lives in Seminole, Florida with his golden doodle Teddy.
