Virginia Ironside begann ihre berufliche Laufbahn als Journalistin und veröffentlichte im Alter von zwanzig Jahren ihr erstes Buch. In den Sechzigern schrieb sie eine Rockmusik-Kolumne für die 'Daily Mail' und wechselte später als Kummerkastentante zur Zeitschrift 'Woman'. Derzeit hat sie eine wöchentliche Kolumne mit Ratschlägen für alle Lebensfragen im 'Independent'. Virginia Ironside hat bereits mehrere Ratgeber sowie Kinderbücher verfasst. In England ist sie nicht nur als Autorin und Journalistin bekannt, sondern auch als Tochter der Mode-Ikone Janey Ironside, einer Vorreiterin der Kulturrevolution der Sechziger. Die Autorin lebt und arbeitet in London.
