Produktbeschreibung
No Ketchup on Spaghetti celebrates Italy's extraordinary food culture-its authentic flavors, traditional craftsmanship, and certified excellence (PDO, PGI, and TSG agri-food products). The title itself is a gentle provocation, reminding readers that true Italian cuisine is rooted in respect for ingredients and traditions rather than shortcuts or imitations. Every culinary journey begins with understanding ingredients, knowing where to find them, and learning how to prepare them with care and simplicity. Italian food is so much more than pizza and pasta; it's a universe of regional specialties and timeless recipes that tell the story of a country through its kitchens. In this book, Ale Gambini guides readers to discover both hidden treasures-such as Scampi alla Busara, Crescione, and Mondeghili-and beloved classics like Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe, Cannoli, and Focaccia. Enriched with a foreword by Alessandro Schiatti and filled with insights from some of Italy's most respected culinary voices-including Aurelio Barattini, Christina Conte, Gabriella Gasparini, Manuela Mazzocco, Barbara Pollastrini, Vincenzo Prosperi, Amy Riolo, and Mario Rizzotti-this book blends tradition, culture, and passion. More than a cookbook, No Ketchup on Spaghetti is an invitation to experience Italian cuisine the way it's meant to be enjoyed: with authenticity, curiosity, and love.
Autorenporträt
Alessandra "Ale" Gambini (Milan, Italy, 1971 - Irvine, California, 2024) Alessandra "Ale" Gambini was an Italian food writer, cookbook author, recipe developer, and culinary instructor based in Los Angeles. Renowned for her authentic approach to Italian cuisine, she shared her deep knowledge and passion as an IICCT Certified Chocolate Taster, Worldchefs Accredited Tea Master, and brand ambassador for Matilde Vicenzi. Born and raised in Milan, Ale learned to cook from her beloved grandmother, Nonna Fernanda, whose recipes and values shaped the heart of her culinary philosophy. In 2013, she launched her blog Bread Love and Dreams, later rebranded as A Queen in the Kitchen-a digital home for authentic Italian recipes and travel stories that earned her international recognition and a devoted following. Her award-winning web series, including A Queen in the Kitchen, Baking Bread, and A World of Sweets, received multiple honors at the Taste Awards in Hollywood, where she was later inducted into the Hall of Fame (Class of 2023). Ale was also a beloved cooking instructor at the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles, Eataly USA, and LA Food Bowl, inspiring students to cook with joy, patience, and authenticity. Her creativity, grace, and generosity touched countless lives, and her passion for Italian culture continues to inspire home cooks around the world. Ale's legacy is carried forward through the Tiramisù Club California, founded in her honor, and through the ongoing work of her husband and producer, Maurizio de Togni, who continues to preserve her spirit and creative vision-keeping her voice, channels, and cultural mission alive through her posthumous book, A World of Tiramisù, soon to be released worldwide. "Don't stop chasing your dreams." - Ale Gambini
