Rafael Sica, born in the city of Pelotas, Brazil, in 1979, is a leading figure in contemporary Brazilian comics. In 2010, he published his first book, Ordinário. Since then, he has published several works, including Fachadas, Brasil, and Triste. No One Slept, originally published in Portuguese as Ninguém Dormia, marks Sica's debut in children's literature, bringing his distinctive style to a new audience. Bruna Dantas Lobato is a writer and translator. Her fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Guernica, A Public Space, and The Common. Her translation of The Words That Remain by Stênio Gardel received the 2023 National Book Award for Translated Literature. Originally from Natal, Brazil, she lives in Iowa and teaches at Grinnell College. Her debut novel, Blue Light Hours, is out now from Grove Atlantic.
