Raised in Oakland, California, Ms. Rucker received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis, her master's degree and teaching credential from San Jose State University, and her Doctor of Education from the University of San Francisco. For over forty years, she has worked in education as a teacher, school administrator, and administrative coach and continues to nurture her rich legacy of storytelling through writing and acting. She lives in San Jose California with family, friends, and her sweet puppy, Sadie. Noodles and Gumbo is her first children's book.
