It is now known that obesity is a multifactorial disease, as it involves both genetic and environmental components. Based on a review of the literature and scientific experimentation, this study points out how some environmental events can increase individuals' susceptibility to weight gain, leading to obesity, as well as negatively altering some health parameters, regardless of genetic patterns.
