Nineteen-year-old Abigail's life has always been strange, as she struggles to cope with a most unsettling affliction: the inability to distinguish between fiction and reality, which results in troublesome episodes of trauma and mysterious, confusing observations. It can't be explained, only dealt with on top of Abigail's attempts for normalcy. But Abigail is no stranger to working through hard times. When her mother dies, she and her father accept a family friend's invitation to join him at Tranquil Manor, an idyllic English home surrounded by wild, rambling gardens for Abigail to tend. It's a welcome distraction from the illness that continues to plague her, perhaps now more than ever . . . Falling in love with the homeowner's son, though, is a turn of events for the better. As their youthful affection blossoms into something real, Abigail and Simon's relationship is put to the test, and more than once. Between the secrets she's already keeping and the upheaval an unexpected tragedy leaves behind, Abigail is spinning a web that is becoming harder and harder to untangle.Soon, the only person she can trust is herself-and when your mind refuses to learn what's true and what's not, yourself may not be as faithful as you think.
