Do you know that there are more people in their fifties and older who are trying to date? Are you overwhelmed, frustrated, and discouraged as you try to navigate the various dating ponds in your senior years? If you answered yes to either of these questions, this book is for you because it's about the author's dating journey after the age of fifty-five. And please know that journey is different for all of us now than when we were starting out. Paraphrasing what Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz might say, "We're not in high school anymore!" Once the author found the courage to date again (after a thirty-year marriage), she quickly learned that finding eligible men in the senior dating pond-at least those who were not looking for a 'nurse' or a 'purse'-was quite overwhelming as well as quite the adventure! Yep, she encountered them all: a rude bully, a con artist, a narcissist, a cheater . . . to name a few. Along the way, she gathered her takeaways (lessons learned) from all these encounters so you can also learn from her ventures. You'll also learn about the married jerks. The good news is, all of this leads up to the silver lining, which is: Yes! She finally found her prince! Please join her as she shares stories that will not only entertain you but will also help you navigate those dating waters for yourself.
Autorenporträt
Victoria Vaughn is a life-long learner who loves to read. She holds a doctorate in education and is a retired educator and college administrator. After a thirty-year marriage, she found herself single (following an amicable divorce) at the age of fifty-five. Navigating the various dating ponds at that age left her with eye-opening experiences that she is happy to share with you now in this book. Now retired, Victoria lives in Austin, Texas, in a multi-generational home she built with her older daughter, her son-in-law, and three of her seven grandchildren. Aside from writing, she enjoys live theater, fine dining, movies, and attending all the various sports her grandchildren play. At seventy-six, this is her first book. But it won't be her last if you contact her with your stories to be included in future volumes!
