The inaugural academic research endeavour singularly focused on Theravadin Buddhist nuns within the Australian context. An abridged iteration of the doctoral dissertation, this study examines some of the gender equity issues faced by Buddhist women. Through interviews with Buddhist monastics and lay devotees, the author explores the unique socioreligious landscape of Theravada Buddhism in Australia. In adherence to research ethics and for archival integrity, all interview transcripts are appended, thereby preserving the authentic voices and lived experiences of the Australian nuns.
