Elle est titulaire d'un diplôme en littérature de l'université de Caxias do Sul, d'un diplôme de technologue en optométrie de l'université luthérienne du Brésil, d'un diplôme de spécialiste en santé collective de la faculté de Serra Gaúcha et d'une maîtrise en santé collective de l'université luthérienne du Brésil. Elle enseigne dans l'enseignement supérieur (premier et deuxième cycles) et travaille comme optométriste indépendante.
