This work aims to the best choice and optimization of drilling fluid systems in El Borma concession. For this objective, rheological parameters for three wells (Well 1, Well 2 and Well 3) are studied in a way to select the best drill-in fluids system. To ensure this, the drill-in fluid program of the new well, drilled in El Borma oilfield (Well 1) is based on the study of the causes of common problems encountered in El Borma by analyzing lithology, choosing the most suitable mud and polyols in terms of rheology and volumes. The final proposed program is applied on the future programmed Well 1…mehr

The final proposed program is applied on the future programmed Well 1 side track in July 2019. This program consists on the choice of a good drill-in fluid system (O/W Ratio), an optimal rheological approach and recommendations for maintaining the rheological parameters. In addition, a suggestion for the right products to use in our case is provided among a wide range of commercialized products. Finally, the overall drill-in fluids program has been calculated in term of cost.
