This fast moving storyline is set in and around the quintessential village of Langdon, nestled (20) miles north of Chester, on the Earl of Dorkington's (15) thousand acre rural estate. Where in the summer of (1955) a young couple sneaked off into the woods, near Pinders Quarry, and come the following spring a baby boy was found on the orphanage steps wrapped in a white shawl who they named Richard, and after (8 years) of being used and abused by the system he was finally adopted and his magical mystery tour began. And, in (1972) he left school to commence his apprenticeship as a jockey under the watchful eye of Captain Bangor-Jones. But, on a cold and windy November afternoon the postman called, and his life fell apart after Inspector Tommy Watt, had informed him, that his parents had been murdered! Thankfully the Captain's daughter Miranda helped him through the trauma much to her mother disgust. But true love won the day and in (1974) and she walked down the aisle on her fathers arm, whilst Richard's nemesis sat outside in the Church car park plotting his demise. And as Richard's career blossomed, so had his nemesis' relationship with his wife, until he overheard him bragging about their sexual exploits, and he dropped down onto his knees. 'Big boy's don't cry, ' his Mother would say after he'd taken a fall. But he did then, and sort retribution.
