When an eight-year-old boy's father goes to war, life changes. He learns much. About separation. About fear. About the way he sees his father. About the strength of his mother. About the consequences of war. Any war. Our Vietnam is a short but powerful read about a child's perspective on war, and how that perspective changes - from when his father is away to when he comes home. When we read books about war, we seldom hear from the children of those sent to serve. Our Vietnam is such a book - a collection of deeply personal memories; a rare and raw perspective.

Autorenporträt
Guy was born in Melbourne but, as the son of a soldier, grew up in various places in Australia and the United States of America. He graduated from the Royal Australian Air Force Academy in 1983. He flew as an operational Air Force pilot and Qualified Flying Instructor until 1990 when he joined Australian Airlines, and then Qantas Airways in 1994. Now semi-retired, he and his wife Jo-Anne share their time between homes on Norfolk Island and Melbourne - where their five children live and work. Guy is both excited and honoured to re-publish Our Vietnam in collaboration with two of his children, Meredith and Miriam.
