Autorenporträt
Geraldton-born Cherie (Rose) spent her early life living on the south coast of Western Australia and exploring and understanding all aspects of the surrounding natural areas and the karri forests of Boranup, Karridale and Manjimup. She spent many hours at Deepdene in the original homestead which she loved with its many classic features of tin-pressed walls, whitewashed stone and wide-open verandahs, and she also lived through the Karridale bushfires of 1962.That experience and her abundant knowledge of the flora and fauna of these regions inspired her to begin this series of books, which she hopes will one day become a film series! Her first-hand knowledge of all these areas has enabled her to bring these areas to life for her readers as she takes them on this literary journey.
