Ayun Halliday is the author of nine other books and Chief Primatologist of the long running, award-winning, autobiographical zine, The East Village Inky. As co-founder of Theater of the Apes, Ayun writes, acts, makes costumes out of thrift store finds, and creates improvised bluegrass musicals and offbeat variety shows. She is currently adapting her solo retelling of Romeo and Juliet, NURSE!, as a graphic novel. Born in Indianapolis, she has lived half her life in New York City.
